Crowning View of Caribbean
Guest: John Anderson. Date of stay: December 2014
The most upscale Villa on Saba. The fit and finish, linens, furnishings, well-equipped kitchen, feather beds, luxurious showers and bathrooms all combine to make this Villa worthy to those who appreciate luxury. The views from the multiple decks, especially the shear wall on the lower deck, are outstanding. Numerous places to sit and read a book or chat while enjoying a drink and absorbing the view. My two older teenage sons and I were there for Christmas 2014 for a week of scuba diving with Sea Saba. We also arranged in advance for the house to be stocked with groceries before we arrived, and the daily house cleaning service a real plus. Last year we had Peddy take us to the various Villa's, and concluded Spyglass has the best view and privacy. It does not have a pool, but for diver's, we have enough with the ocean. It does have an outdoor soaking tub carved of stone, on the shear wall! View's include Eustatia, St. Kitts and Martinique.

We have just returned from a fabulous stay on Saba. Villa Spyglass was definitely a highlight of the trip. The views are spectacular, in every direction you turn. The villa is unique; a blend of both a beautiful Caribbean style house on the outside and very tasteful, contemporary design on the inside. The decor and appliances are in impeccable condition. It is equipped with all the modern amenities, as well. The villa is very private yet just a 10 minute walk to town in Windwardside, where there are great restaurants and stores. We would definitely recommend villa Spyglass and hope to stay there again, ourselves.
Our stay at Spyglass

We were at Spyglass for a week during the late part of October, 2014. We were stunned with the setting and luxury of the villa on arrival late Sunday, and enjoyed every minute of our stay there. The house is elegant, comfortable, and perfectly situated on a high point overlooking much of Saba Island, as well as the islands stretching far out to the horizon to the south. Sitting on the verandah with a glass of wine nearby was so totally satisfying that it almost seemed a shame to leave so that we could visit all the other beautiful parts of the island! We found everything we needed right at hand, and when we asked for a hairdryer a brand new one was delivered to us the next day. Frankly, now that we have stayed at Spyglass we can't imagine being satisfied with any other lodging on this lovely island!
The perfect oasis - view, veranda, sunset, and cocktails

The property is located on a point of land about a 10-minute walk from the center of Windwardside with gorgeous views of the ocean and Mt. Scenery. Although we could spend a paragraph just praising the beautiful island design and comfort of the house, it is impossible to describe how relaxing it was to laze away the day on the veranda and multiple decks of the house, each with their own special view.
The house is well equipped with supplies including binoculars to appreciate the night sky. Can’t tell you about the TV – never turned it on. Why would you when you could be enjoying evening cocktails on the veranda? Your glutes and calves will be finely sculpted after a few journeys up the steep hill to the Shearwater resort for a swim or a drink, but it is well worth it (don’t miss the bunnies – and, ok, the goats, but they are everywhere).
We spent one week on the island mostly hiking with one day of snorkeling. Very easy to access everything we needed from the house and the staff at Shearwater was very helpful whenever we had questions. The owner was very accommodating to our last minute request and has been interested in our feedback.
So, if you want a relaxing vacation in an enchanting location, we have no hesitation in recommending Spyglass to you.
